Bremen is situated about 72 nautical miles (nm) away from the
North Sea. Main port activities are the handling of general
cargo, containers, automobiles, bulks and fruits.
Seamen mission offer recreational facilities, telephone and
exchange servcie as well as transport to and from ship, depending
on the berth of the ship. Usual shopping facilities of a large
German city are available throughout the week during normal
hours, except on Sundays and holidays.
The port is divided into the Hemelinger Hafen, Europahafen,
Neustaedter Hafen, Holz- und Fabrikenhafen, Gertreidehafen,
Werfthafen, Kap Horn Hafen, Klöcknerhafen, Car Terminal
and the Industriehafen area. The Industriehafen is protected
by Oslebshausen lock, the other parts of the port are open to

Vessels of above mentioned dimensions can pass the locks
only under certain weather conditions and at certain time
of tide. Port Authority to be contacted an actual dimensions
accepted.
The maximum dimensions mentioned do not necessarily apply
to all berths, quays or areas within the port.
